Home Organizing Success Story
Elise had attended my January “Home Organizing Success” class at the Orem Library. Elise told me when she called that she had tried to organize her home on her own many times, but had not been successful and that attending the class had helped her understand my 5-step home organizing process, but that she was part of the 40% who needed to work side-by-side with someone to really feel she could organize her home trouble spots.
Those trouble spots were:
- Her pantry closet (see the photo to the right)
- Her medicine closet / first-aid closet
- Her basement food storage room (see the photo below)
- Her sewing room

We organized Elise’s pantry. It took us under 3 hours to complete start to finish. I suggested she make sure that her pantry contain only the food essentials because she had a food storage area in her basement where we could move duplicates and seldom used food items. (see the photo to the left)
Next we found home organizing success downstairs in her food storage room. (Note: This room took longer because Elise’s family had used this room as a “drop it” location for all the stuff they did not want to put away.)
Finally, we attacked her medicine closet. After we completed these 3 areas Elise decided to downsize and organize her sewing room on her own. She knew she could do it now because she’d had some actual side-by-side experience with me. After working with me for one month, four morning home organizing sessions of 4-hrs each, Elise had finally been able to clearly understand how to organize any space in her home on her own.
10% of the human population are natural born organizers. 40% of us can organize on our own IF we have detailed processes and best organizing solutions for specific home spaces. I have created some Best Solutions Printable Packets for those of you that are part of this lucky 50% who can organize on your own with good information.
Elise is very pleased with herself and I am proud to have been a part of her lasting transformation!

I should mention that I use alias names when I work with my clients. They get to remain incognito!

This was an incredibly good post. It brought forth some hope in me that I might be able to do this also. I procrastinate a whole lot and never seem to get much done. Thanks for the hope.
